Happy Anniversary to Me! - October 23, 2009 -

So today I did something completely selfish and outrageous… I got Glamour Lashes!!! I did help a good cause in the process since this lash package was a silent auction item offered at the recent CFF Gala. I bid and won this set of lashes and had a difficult time trying to figure out when to use them. They are glued on to my individual lashes so they will only last the lifespan of a normal lash… about 4 weeks. They are ridiculously expensive to get so I was pleased to get them at auction but I love them and it will be hard not to try to keep them. It is like nails, every 3 weeks I’m supposed to go get refills for the lashes that have fallen out. Anyway, I’m glad I have them for now ~ even though it took 2 hours to get them. The experience was nice. The spa atmosphere, comfy massage table, subtle music, super nice gal doing it. The only difference was that it wasn’t dark. Super bright lights so the lady could see what she was doing and not poke my eye out. Anyway… here is the finished product!

Please overlook the shaggy eyebrows and sleepy morning eye look in the before pics. I slept late on my day off so the sleepy was hard to shake off.

I generally don’t do lavish stuff like this but it is nice to treat yourself every now and then. I think my next version of this will be to try the prescription lash serum that has been advertised by Brooke Sheilds~ Latrisse (?) It’s fairly expensive too but lasts longer and isn’t such a maintenance issue as these glamour lashes. My lady today said that some of her clients are using it but some have issues withe lashes growing out too straight and not being curl-able with a lash curler. Of course, she has a solution for me if that is the route I go and have the same problem…. a lash perm! Gives the lashes a permanent “C-curl”. But guess what, it only lasts the lifespan of the lash too…. Hhhhmmmm, seems like I’m becoming high maintenance! LOL!
