Swing of Things
Trying to get back into the swing of things after vacation, two days of work, Halloween weekend, time change and now back to work. I’m finding it a little difficult… anybody else? The time change has helped me getting up to exercise early but that last hour of work yesterday was tough! Hopefully plowing through this week and trying to stay on a schedule will help but this weekend, I’m back off to Branson to see Peter Pan so I won’t be Jazzercising Saturday morning. I’m sure I will have plenty of exercise with two young ladies going on our trip (the youngest being 6). I will be running around chasing her and walking lots so not too worried about it.
Yesterday I was very concerned about my eating. Even on vacation I was able to eat until I was hungry having what I wanted and not denying treats along the way. Thursday and Friday at work weren’t too hard… but I did have Larry’s Pizza parade Friday with my boss… OH IT WAS GOOD!!! Saturday was a tough day but I made it through. I was having one of those days that I could think of something decadent at every place I drove by. Oh, there’s Ed’s~ peanut butter brownie or iced cookie. Mmmm, there’s Maggie’s~ fudge nut brownie. I could sure go for an American Cookie Co. icing filled cookie sandwich. I managed to make it through the day with the healthy food in my pantry and a large diet cherry limeade on Sonic’s happy hour. I was glad when the hubby got home!
Then yesterday came and it was harder than ever! I know exactly what the reason is (hormones) but it is still frustrating. The candy bowl was calling me every time I stood up and left my office, a coworker brought back cheese dip and salsa from Senior Tequila on her lunch. I ate my healthy lunch and then snacked all day long. I didn’t feel like exercising because of the time change and yucky food all day. But this morning is a new day that I started with exercise so I feel much better. Fresh start, new decisions to make and same healthy lunch ready for me: egg salad sandwich with organic farm fresh eggs from a coworker, light mayo, on an Orowheat multigrain sandwich round… chicken Caesar salad with cold rotisserie chicken breast from the Kroger deli and light Caesar dressing… baked Cheetos. Can’t wait to dig in!
While things have been rough being so off schedule, I just have to keep in mind that I had a wonderful time on vacation and everyday is a new day. I know what works so I just have to keep it up… exercise and eating healthy… simple.
