Small Successes
I went and worked out again this morning after another episode of having to pull my blanket “from my cold, dead hands”. Not a pretty site… I think my muscles are just full of sludge pre-9 am so I sit mindlessly on the couch eating cereal thinking of putting my workout clothes on before rushing to brush my teeth and hit the cold weather outside. I may take up my grade school habit of wearing next day’s clothes to bed so you have that much less to do in the morning and can sleep those extra few minutes. I read some tips in a magazine to help with morning workouts and it mentioned to have a short snooze time, 5 minutes or less, and to only use it once. The short snooze time apparently doesn’t let you get into a deep sleep again the way the 10 minute snooze buttons will do. How does one find a short snooze alarm clock? I don’t think I would like it because on some days, I will hit snooze for 45 minutes… I can’t imagine a short snooze! I would feel like I was hitting the button every second. I guess that’s the whole point~ not to hit it repeatedly and get your butt out of bed.
Anyway, I went to workout and then to work. I was tempted by the office ordering out today for Iriana’s. They have the best breadsticks but I have only had them once before because of an incident the night the hubby and I got married. We went there before spending the night at the Peabody… they staff was extremely rude to us both and we had a terrible experience. I’m a firm believer in you vote with your dollars and the best way to get even is not to give a business your money if you’re not satisfied with them. So, I have only had an extra breadstick that a coworker ordered once. Really good, YUM! When the menu and order list came to my desk, I eyeballed it pretty hard and as the words were coming out of my mouth to order, I said No, thanks. I just had a flash of working out hard this morning so I didn’t want to waste all that effort of getting out of bed pre-dawn by eating bad and it just wouldn’t have been worth the money.
Instead, I had a delicious Progresso Southwest veggie soup with herbed, high fiber crackers. I’m typing this full and satisfied right now and so thankful that I didn’t order lunch! Yeah for me!!!
