Half Ton Anyone…

It’s just disturbing to watch the TLC show Half-Ton Mom, Dad or Teen. The people themselves are unbelievably obese and their enabling family members disgust me. I can’t understand the line being crossed from lovingly wanting to provide for your family over to killing them with food. At some point, they become so obese that they cannot go to the kitchen themselves so the family around them have to provide it. If they can’t make it to the kitchen, then they should be losing weight… not being waited on with more food by the family around them.I can understand that I have problem with food. For the most part, I have conquered the worst of the food demons. It flares up with stress, holidays, temptations. I am much more aware of it now and have found a good place right now. From the last time I was doing Weight Watchers until now, I have been able to maintain a good weight and size. I eat things that I want to eat in moderation but generally keep a healthy diet day to day.I applaud all those people out there that recognize their issues with food and are taking steps through food modification and/or exercise to overcome them.I have several things that are motivating me right now… business meetings- who doesn’t like feeling sexy when making deals?  Vegas vacation- hard to compete with Vegas girls but I’m going to do my best. Running 5Ks this summer- maybe it will lead to a half marathon, we’ll see. And last but not least… the big goal- look my best at my 15 year reunion next year. I want to shock all the losers that I went school with so I’ve got to stay on top of my game.  :)
