My Favorite Shortcuts & Tips
There are a lot of tips and advice out there for weight loss success. Ultimately, it is up the user to find what works and utilize it. Everybody is different in personalities, schedules/lifestyles, nutritional needs… just different. So I guess it is a good thing there is so much advice to choose from. Here are just a few things that I can think of to share:1. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Planning meals, lunches and surrounding yourself with healthy snacks is imperative. I used to think that I only had to be strong at the grocery store. Where I am at now is a little more difficult with a candy dish outside my office and daily offers to order in delivery with the rest of the office. I still manage to find ways to be successful. I keep soup and Lean Cuisines at the office, high fiber crackers, unsalted almonds and Weight Watchers chocolate candies. I’m not perfect 100% of the time but if I didn’t have this stuff readily available, I would be in BIG trouble.2. 1-day old cooked Rotisserie chickens in your deli section at the grocery store. These are the best because they are discounted for being a day old. They are also perfect for making enchiladas, chicken salad for sandwiches, or even just a quick grab-a-drumstick dinner on an I-don’t-want-to-cook night.3. Canned chicken. Seriously… I think I was 26 years old before I discovered it. It is great to add to tortilla soups and chicken casseroles. Not good for chicken salad in my taste bud opinion.4. When cooking recipes that call for fresh herbs, it is usually tough to use the amount that you are required to buy at the store. They don’t last long but you can separate them into small tupperware with water and fresh. Thaw when ready to use.5. Sweet tooth? I like the chocolate goldfish or vanilla wafers for a sweet taste after dinner. These are light sweet flavors that just curb that craving. That’s all I can think of to share at the moment for foodie stuff.I’ve got my first run clinic night tomorrow. I missed Monday due to weather and traveling issues but I’m gearing up for the big night tomorrow. I think it should be a good time… just ready for the warmer weather!
